Halloween Costume Ideas

Tuesday, August 15th, 2006

I know it’s a bit early for this, but somehow thinking about it helps me focus on the fact that the temp. outside WILL soon cool down a bit.

I’m taking suggestions. I think Miles might “get it” this year. He was a Black Cat year 1:

mini-Dracula year 2:

And I’ve come up with some ideas for this year:

1) Grapes — an homage to my award-winning 7th grade costume. We affixed purple balloons to one of my dad’s old T-shirts. I wore a stem on my head and brown leggings. (I won a Herbie Hancock album and the admiration of many at the Takoma Park Junior High Halloween Dance)

2) The Unknown Comic– only we would have to use a lunch bag instead of a grocery bag.

3) Or something we tried around the house about a year ago. The Giant Baby:

Please help us decide…

My date with Joy

We went to the Children’s Museum today.

Here’s my girl, Joy. Isn’t she fine?

Here we are in the car. I swear I wasn’t trying nothin’!

Our first stop was the Tot Spot, where we set some music up on the video juke box and cut the rug.

Then I swang by the grocery store to pick up some healthy snacks for the party we were going to.

We needed some fresh milk for the tea.

“Pip pip, cheery-oh…” We had a brilliant time at Alice’s place.

“I had a great time today, Joy. When will I see you again?”

Blowout

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

I combed Miles’ hair out today. He didn’t enjoy it.

I had to do it before I took him to get his hair cut. Now it’s short again.

Not sure he’s happy with EITHER look!
